In honor of Britney Spears’ birthday (December 2), I want to remind everyone that this woman was publically ostracized for struggling with the onset of mental illness, divorce, and losing custody of her children after years of media scrutiny and hypersexualization starting at the age of 17. No, she is not just a crazy woman who shaved her head. She’s the victim of an industry that loves to build a woman up before tearing her down.
I was kidnapped from my porch and stuffed into the back of a generic white van that suddenly sped off.
I wasn’t sure where we were going or what the people who took me had planned for me, but then I started noticing that we kept turning to the left and I found myself rolling into the wall. I got on my knees to see what they were doing and it turned out the van was just doing sick donuts in the parking lot of a BJ’s. Eventually I was able to undo my bindings and opened the back door of the van, but I decided to stick around with the kidnappers because they never stopped doing donuts and I thought it was rad as fuck.
I was looking for a job, and once again no one wanted me so my mom found this government company thing that would give me lightweight jobs. I had to apply for it and it was an extremely difficult thing to get help for because of how little people they accepted in. tl;dr I went in to see the head lady who chose people and turns out she was obsessed with wolves and her secretary cried when I told her my story and started talking about wolves and said she would probably love me. When I entered the head lady’s office, we started discussing wolves and she was a bit eccentric and the lightweight job she wanted to give me was to be her human pet essentially and I was trying to decide whether or not it was worth it because I really needed money.
I hate those really vivid dreams that you’re still emotionally attached to after you wake up. You’re stuck, feeling for something that technically doesn’t exist.
I WOULD PAY TEN TIMES AS MUCH FOR CHOCOLATE IF IT MEANT REDUCING THE AMOUNT OF SLAVES IN THE WORLD? HOW IS THIS ANY KIND OF PROBLEM.
good news, you can! the company’s called Tony’s Chocolonely and their entire purpose is to make slave-free chocolate and reform the chocolate industry.
Whole Foods carries it. If you don’t want to support an Amazon-owned company, World Market carries it. You can also buy it directly from the company.
It’s the best chocolate I’ve ever had and it’s 100% slave free. Tony’s Chocolonely works really hard to push for transparency within the chocolate industry and actually has and is following an action plan to eliminate slavery within cocoa production. They’re good people who make good chocolate.
