no seriously at what point do we stop saying dinosaurs and start saying prehistoric birds?? is it a matter of time?? a matter of species??? SCIENCE SIDE OF TUMBLR PLEASE HELP
We don’t actually know for certain!
It’s all a gradual series of transitional forms, and where we stick the
arbitrary point of “birds start here” depends on on what you consider to
be their defining traits.
Do we define them by having feathers? If we do that, then fuzzy feather-like structures actually seem to go all the way back to the common ancestor of all dinosaurs and pterosaurs – which would therefore make every single member of those groups birds too.
If you’re not into the idea of calling things like Pteranodon and Triceratops “birds”, then maybe we should go more specific and use the presence of pennaceous feathers instead. The kind with quills and barbs that we normally associate with birds’ wings.
Those are at least found only in theropod dinosaurs, except… they’ve been found in ornithomimosaurs, a group well before anything we’d usually say was a “bird”. (And they might go even further back, since there are possible quill knobs known from the carnosaur Concavenator. And then Tyrannosaurus also gets to be a bird!)
Okay, that’s still a bit weird. What about being able to fly?
That at least seems to have happened in Pennaraptora, a group of theropods that includes oviraptorosaurs, dromaeosaurs, Archaeopteryx, and everything else leading to modern birds. So we’re definitely getting much more bird-like in here.
But we don’t know exactly when flight originated. Opinions on whether Archaeopteryx could actually fly go back and forth constantly (the newest research suggests yes) – but some earlier small dromaeosaurs might also have been capable of powered flight. And there’s even the possibility that bird-like flight independently evolved multiple times in different branches of this particular family tree.
It’s a bit of a mess.
Then there’s always Archaeopteryx as the traditional option for “first bird”, but we’ve found so many other similar birdy things by now that’s it’s not actually unique anymore. Pick out any defining “bird” feature in Archie and there’s an older dinosaur with the same trait which then also has to be a bird too.
And so we end up with the most conservative option: Neornithes
(or Aves), the group that contains all modern
birds going back to their last common ancestor. Those are all definitely
unquestionably birds, but…
…Then things like Confuciusornis and enantiornitheans and Ichthyornis don’t get to be birds. And they’re very birdy-looking. If you saw one alive you’d call it a bird.
But if we keep backtracking through the evolutionary tree along everything that still looks like a bird we just end up right back in the pennaraptoran mess again. So that’s not much help either.
A lot of paleontologists still tend to consider “birds” starting at a point just before Archaeopteryx, in a group called Avialae, but there’s also a lot of inconsistency and disagreements. Really you can pick whatever definition you personally like best and just roll with that, because there’s unlikely to be a Definite Official Bird Definition anytime soon.
So I don’t know about you guys, but I saw Bex say she was going to re watch Space Mall, no big deal. But then It got me thinking. So I went back and re watched that episode again,
So we immediately are hit by this,
“Two paladins battling for the same lion.” Shiro and Zarkon were battling for the Black lion, but they never said anything about two paladins working together in the same lion. Which got me thinking, if there are two paladins in a lion who willingly want to work together, what would happen???
Well, we already saw what happens,
I’m crying in the club. Anyways, until now, Shiro had been the only one to form the Black lions wings,
but now thanks to his help Keith was able to awaken them as well.
So, now we have this,
The Red lions rail gun. Lance is now the Red paladin so it has to be Lance, but the thing is, why does it have two tails? Unless it’s a error which I doubt.
Well, Keith had already activated the Red lions rail gun. “Keith awakens this ability through his sheer rage-driven determination to defeat Zarkon.”
So, Keith’s emotions played a lot with activating the rail gun.
The Galran are now attacking Earth. It’s personal, so of course all of them will be all emotional, but we know for a fact that Lance will be the one most affected.
Lance activating the Red lions rail gun is a thing, but still, why does it have two tails?
My thought is that Keith is in there too. They are both the Red paladins and they are both willingly working together. Just like Shiro and Keith.
So again, I want to touch up on this again,
Zarkon can only track down the Black lion, but only with Haggers help.But you know who can track down their lion or vise versa track down there paladin willingly?
Keith and the Red lion,
and even when there was the lion switch, Keith still worried about Red.
We know all this is very important. I don’t think they just put a focus between them two to just vanish.
It’s vital and we are probably going to watch all this go into action this upcoming season.
Alright moving on, I noticed this,
Shiro wanted to make his and the Black lions connection deeper, but for that the Black lion did something that made it look like he was ignoring Shiro.
The Black lion wanted to show Shiro, and he decided to do it with something like holographic, which seemed real.
The Black lion showed Shiro his home,
And I think somehow they will show the paladins home too,
Both Shiro and Keith have seen through the Black lions eyes,
It’s funny because it somehow involves the Black Lion,
And then of course we got the first time someone went into the Astral Plane,
Shiro was the first one to go,
and eventually the rest went,
But there have been two main people other than Shiro who have been in the Astral Plane.
We even see it in the stars,
and we even saw it here,
Shiro, Keith, and Lance will/have pilot the Black lion,
Their quintessence color is Purple, Red, and Blue,
It can mean many things, but the fact that Shiro and Keith, and Shiro and Lance have been in the Astral Plane for more time makes it seem like those three have something to do in the Astral Plane.
Since Shiro and Keith have been in the Astral Plane together,
And Shiro and Lance have been together,
That just leaves one pair to go,
Anyways, just one last thing, not only can the paladins go to the Astral Plane, so can the lions,
Peter Parker: -on meeting Loki, offers his hand- Hi, I’m Peter!
Loki: -shakes his hand- Loki of Asgard.
Peter: Aren’t you like…a bad guy?
Loki: It varies from moment to moment.
Peter: So like…on a scale of one to ten, ten being the worst evil imaginable, like…killing puppies, and one being I’ll spit on your hotdog…where are you right now?
Loki: …maybe a three?
Peter: Cool. Lemme know if it gets above a six.
Loki: -thinking- I like him.
It had been a joke, a flippant line, but somehow, Loki found himself taking the youth up on it.
It was hard living around these heroic Avengers, hard trying to stay close to Thor. And when he felt his need for mischief rise too high, when he felt exasperation with these Midgardians turn too close to spite, he would casually say “Six.” to the young man, or sometimes “Seven.”
And Peter would spend the rest of his day with Loki. He would badger him with questions about magic, or drag him across his beloved city to see its entertainments, or take him along stopping petty crimes. He grounded Loki to the here and now, and distracted him from the churning, jagged shards of ice in his mind.
WE NEED LOKI AND PETER FICS
Stark’s brat had a system. It had been amusing, at first glance, especially when “killing puppies” was apparently a higher level of evil than trying to take over the world. It had risen and fallen – two, five, one. There were honestly good days.
It took some time before a truly bad day came up.
After a difficult battle, the Captain was being particularly sanctimonious, his team following suit. Even Stark made biting comments.
Loki could scream.
“Spider-man,” he said as calmly as he could. The young man glanced up, having been tying up some of their enemies a few yards away.
“Seven.”
“… okay, guys, I’m going to head out with Loki for the rest of the day. Don’t need us for debrief, yeah?”
“Sure,” Stark shrugged, glancing between the two of them oddly. Loki wasn’t entirely sure what the plan was. They went in civilian clothes to a small café.
“I wasn’t paying attention, so whatever was said, I don’t agree,” Peter began. “But that’s not what I’m here for. So. When you teleport, how does that work? Is it harder with longer distances? Or is knowledge of the place more helpful?” Loki blinked, but explained. It led to a discussion of magical theory. Peter (Loki still called him Parker aloud, but the child and even his young friends grew on him in time) was eager and curious, comparing what he knew from Strange and fantasy books to Loki’s knowledge. It was admittedly fascinating to see how many versions of sorcery humans had created by mere imagination. He was definitely amused by the elves and dwarves of Lord of the Rings.
Sometimes Peter tentatively asked about Strange and Maximoff, if they were doing similar things. Never if Loki was at an 8 or above though.
“Strange is like a child prodigy. He’s good, picks the practical parts up well. He even got the jump on me – but he has not had as much time to study as me. He’s a student where I am a master. Maximoff is incredibly powerful and incredibly lucky, but she does not have much training at all.” Sometimes conversation turned to music, animals, current events.
Peter was good. It was odd, how Loki became so sure of the fact so quickly.
After the conversations, often accompanied with food or a walk, he was always down to a 3 or so. Which made Peter an important person.
So the next time Peter was in trouble and the Avengers were indisposed, Loki was not the least bit surprised that he was not the only one ready to tear someone apart for the kid. Two men in red – one with horns, one with guns and swords – a young girl with cat-shaped blasters on her hands, and the Captain’s assassin friend. Loki curled his lips and muttered:
“For anyone that harms you? 10.”

It was just after noon on a Saturday when Loki got a text from Peter, all it said was
‘8, I’m at home′
Peter had never used their number system for himself before.
Loki had promised the boy’s aunt he would not teleport into their home and while he’d had every intention of honouring that promise, this was definitely an exception.
When Loki materialized in Peter’s room, his friend was pacing, angry and red-faced. Loki had never seen Peter furious before.
Peter began shouting when he saw Loki, ‘Men are scum! Irredeemable, horrible, crappy, scummy scum!’
‘Thank you for telling me, Peter.’ Loki said, sitting down on Peter’s bed. ‘Any particular men inspiring this diatribe?’
Peter grabbed a pillow off his bed and screamed into it, ‘There’s a guy at Aunt May’s work who’s harassing her and she says I need to stay out of it and let Human Resources do their jobs and he’s a creep and he’s making May feel creeped out and… I don’t know what to do.’
Loki blinked. Of all the people Peter could have gone to, he had chose Loki.
‘Thank you, for telling me this. Although I’m not sure how I can be of help.’
Peter flopped down onto the bed next to Loki, ‘You’re my friend and you’re an adult. And I wasn’t sure who else to talk to.’
Loki flopped back next to Peter, it seemed appropriate. ‘If Human Resources doesn’t sort this out to your satisfaction, I can turn this person into a goat.’

Terry Crews came out and admitted he had been sexually assulted by someone in the film industry, and is now being blacklisted. I have been a fan of his since Idiocracy, and will continue to support all of his work.
So when you wonder why people don’t come forward with their assults, this is why.
Where are all the bitch men who ask about male sexual assault when the focus is on women but are dead silent when men are actually at the focus.
It’s almost as if Men’s Rights Activists don’t really care about men’s rights. Hmmm….

This misses the really powerful piece of the story: Terry Crews was the one who chose not to do the movie. One of the producers told him, essentially, that he could either do the movie and be drop the sexual assault charges, or continue with the trial and have “troubles”. Terry dropped out because he felt standing against abusers was more important than his film career.
It’s bullshit that he was threatened in the first place, of course, but his response was ballsy. I admire him for it.
